Description
AV2000 Series — Stainless Steel Thermostatic Air Vents
The AV2000 Series Thermostatic Air Vents are stainless steel devices designed to remove air and non-condensable gases from steam systems. Installed at high points on process equipment, vessels, and piping, these air vents improve heat transfer efficiency, reduce corrosion, and ensure proper steam distribution. The AV2000 Series operates automatically and is suitable for demanding industrial steam applications.
Efficient Air Removal from Steam Systems
The AV2000 Series uses a thermostatic element that opens when cool air or condensate is present and closes tightly when steam reaches the vent. This ensures rapid air discharge during startup while preventing unnecessary steam loss during normal operation.
Material Specification
- Body: Stainless Steel
Technical Specification
- Sizes: 1/2", 3/4"
- Connection: Threaded NPT
- Orifice Sizes: 3/16", 5/16"
- Maximum Operating Pressure: 650 PSIG
Operating Principles
When the system is cold or air is present, the thermostatic element inside the AV2000 remains contracted, keeping the valve open to vent air and non-condensable gases. As steam reaches the vent, the element expands and closes the valve tightly. When air accumulates again, the element cools and reopens, providing continuous automatic air removal.
AV2000 Series Models
| Size / Connection | Model Code | Orifice Size | PMO (PSIG) | Weight (lbs) |
|---|---|---|---|---|

Applications
- Steam piping and headers
- Heat exchangers
- Process vessels
- Steam jackets and coils
- Industrial steam distribution systems
Notes
The AV2000 air vent should be installed at the highest point of the steam system or vessel for maximum effectiveness. Proper sizing and location are critical for efficient air removal. Consult factory for application guidance or special requirements.
