The CIY Series “Y” Type Strainers are cast iron pipeline accessories designed to remove dirt, scale, rust, and other solid particles from fluid flow in piping systems. These strainers provide economical and effective protection for pumps, meters, valves, traps, turbines, and compressors by preventing debris from entering sensitive equipment.

Operating Principles

Fluid entering the CIY Series strainer is directed through a perforated or mesh screen installed at an angle inside the body. Solid particles are trapped on the screen while clean fluid continues downstream. Accumulated debris can be removed by accessing and cleaning the screen, ensuring continuous and efficient system operation.
