Description

CSY Series — Carbon Steel “Y” Type Strainers

The CSY Series “Y” Type Strainers are carbon steel pipeline accessories designed to remove dirt, scale, rust, weld slag, and other solid particles from fluid flow in piping systems. These strainers provide durable and economical protection for pumps, meters, valves, traps, turbines, and compressors in industrial service.

Heavy-Duty Pipeline Protection

The CSY Series strainers are built for demanding applications where higher strength and pressure capability are required. Their Y-pattern design allows efficient filtration with minimal pressure drop and provides easy access for screen removal and cleaning.

Material Specification

  • Body: Carbon Steel

Technical Specification

  • Sizes: 1/2" through 4"
  • Connections: Threaded NPT, Socket Weld (SW), 150# Flanged, 300# Flanged
  • Screen Mesh Sizes: 20 Mesh, 33 Mesh
  • Design: Y-Type with removable stainless steel screen

Operating Principles

As fluid flows through the CSY Series strainer, it passes through an angled mesh screen that captures solid contaminants while allowing clean fluid to continue downstream. Trapped debris collects in the screen pocket and can be easily removed during routine maintenance to ensure uninterrupted system performance.

CSY Series Models

The CSY Series is available in multiple sizes and end connection options, including threaded, socket weld, and flanged configurations. Various mesh sizes are offered to meet different filtration requirements and system conditions.

Applications

  • Steam, water, oil, and gas piping systems
  • Pumps and control valves
  • Steam traps and pressure regulators
  • Compressors and turbines
  • Industrial and process piping

Notes

For best performance, CSY strainers should be installed with the screen pocket oriented downward to allow proper debris collection. Periodic inspection and cleaning of the screen are recommended to maintain flow efficiency and prevent excessive pressure drop. Consult factory for special materials, mesh sizes, or service conditions.
