Description
DPL Series — Cast Iron Drip Pan Elbows
The DPL Series Drip Pan Elbows are cast iron pipeline accessories designed to collect and remove condensate from steam systems. These drip pan elbows are commonly installed beneath steam boilers, pressure relief valves, safety valves, and steam lines to safely drain condensate and prevent water accumulation in piping.
Efficient Condensate Collection
The DPL Series drip pan elbows provide an effective means of separating and collecting condensate formed in steam discharge and relief lines. By directing condensate into a drain connection, these elbows help maintain dry steam flow and protect downstream piping and equipment.
Material Specification
- Body: Cast Iron
Technical Specification
- Sizes: 3/4" through 8"
- Connections: FNPT, 125# Flanged
- Design: Drip pan elbow with bottom drain outlet
Operating Principles
As steam passes through the piping system, condensate naturally forms due to heat loss. The DPL Series drip pan elbow allows this condensate to collect at the bottom of the elbow, where it is discharged through a drain connection. This prevents condensate from being carried further into the system and ensures safer, more efficient steam operation.
DPL Series Models
The DPL Series is available in multiple sizes to match the outlet connections of safety relief valves and steam lines. Both threaded and flanged models are offered to accommodate various installation requirements.
Applications
- Steam boiler installations
- Safety relief valve discharge piping
- Pressure relief and safety valve outlets
- Steam distribution and condensate drainage systems
- Industrial and commercial steam piping
Notes
DPL drip pan elbows should be properly sized to match the outlet connection of the safety relief valve or steam line. A suitable drain line or trap should be connected to the outlet to ensure effective condensate removal. Proper installation and drainage are essential for safe and reliable operation. Consult factory for application guidance or special requirements.
