Description

EHC Series — Ductile Iron / Cast Iron Exhaust Heads

The EHC Series Exhaust Heads are heavy-duty ductile iron or cast iron devices designed to prevent entrained water and solid particles from being discharged directly to the atmosphere. Installed on steam exhaust and vent lines, these exhaust heads protect rooftops, personnel, and surrounding equipment from water damage and debris.

Safe Steam Exhaust Discharge

The EHC Series separates moisture and particles from exhaust steam before release to atmosphere. Internal flow redirection reduces velocity and allows entrained condensate to fall back into the exhaust line, ensuring only clean vapor is discharged while minimizing noise and splash.

Material Specification

  • Body: Ductile Iron or Cast Iron

Technical Specification

  • Sizes: 1" through 10"
  • Connections: Threaded NPT, 150# Flanged, 125# Flanged
  • Mounting: Vertical exhaust installation

Operating Principles

As exhaust steam flows upward into the EHC Series exhaust head, internal chambers slow and redirect the flow. Heavier water droplets and solid particles lose momentum and fall back into the exhaust piping, while dry steam exits safely through the top opening. This design prevents condensate carryover and protects surrounding structures.

EHC Series Models

The EHC Series is available in multiple sizes and connection types, including NPT and flanged configurations, to accommodate a wide range of exhaust capacities and installation requirements.

Applications

  • Steam exhaust and vent lines
  • Safety valve discharge piping
  • Boiler and process vents
  • Rooftop steam exhaust systems
  • Industrial and commercial steam systems

Notes

EHC exhaust heads should be installed in a vertical orientation with adequate clearance above the outlet to allow free discharge of steam. Proper drainage of exhaust piping below the head is recommended to prevent condensate accumulation. Consult factory for sizing guidance or special installation requirements.
