Description

EHF & EHS Series — Fabricated Exhaust Heads

The EHF & EHS Series Exhaust Heads are fabricated carbon steel or stainless steel devices designed to prevent entrained water and solid particles from steam exhaust from being discharged directly to the atmosphere. These exhaust heads are commonly installed on steam vents and relief lines to protect rooftops, personnel, and nearby equipment from water damage.

High-Efficiency Steam Exhaust Protection

The EHF & EHS Series uses an internal directional baffle design that separates moisture and debris from exhaust steam. By reducing velocity and redirecting flow, entrained condensate is forced to drop back into the exhaust piping, allowing only dry steam to exit safely to atmosphere.

Material Specification

  • EHF: Fabricated Carbon Steel
  • EHS: Stainless Steel (304 SS optional)

Technical Specification

  • Sizes: 2" through 12"
  • Connections: 150# Flanged
  • Construction: Fabricated steel with internal baffles
  • Installation: Vertical exhaust mounting

Operating Principles

Exhaust steam enters the EHF or EHS exhaust head and encounters internal baffles that change the flow direction and reduce velocity. Moisture droplets and solid particles lose momentum and fall back into the exhaust line due to gravity. Clean, dry steam exits upward to atmosphere, preventing condensate carryover and minimizing noise and splash.

EHF & EHS Series Models

The EHF Series is available in fabricated carbon steel construction, while the EHS Series is offered in stainless steel for corrosion-resistant applications. Multiple sizes are available to match a wide range of exhaust flow requirements.

Applications

  • Steam exhaust and vent piping
  • Safety valve and relief valve discharge
  • Boiler and process vent systems
  • Rooftop steam exhaust outlets
  • Industrial steam plants

Notes

EHF and EHS exhaust heads should be installed vertically with sufficient clearance above the outlet for unrestricted steam discharge. Proper drainage of exhaust piping below the head is recommended to prevent condensate buildup. Stainless steel construction is available upon request. Consult factory for sizing assistance or special service conditions.
