Pilot-Operated Regulators
Watson McDaniel Pilot-Operated Regulators are more accurate and offer higher capacities than standard direct-operated regulators. With the proper selection of pilots, these regulators will accurately control either temperature or pressure or a combination of both. They are available in ductile iron and cast steel.
Watson McDaniel HD Series Pilot-Operated Regulator (less pilot) DUCTILE IRON
The HD Series Pilot-Operated Regulating Valve was designed for extremely accurate control of temperature and pressure in steam service applications. The HD-Series is made of Ductile Iron for extended pressure and temperature ratings. These regulators use several different control pilots which are mounted to the valve to control pressure, temperature, or a combination of both. When two or more pilots are used at the same time, for example, both a pressure and a temperature pilot, an additional pilot adapter for the second pilot is required (must indicate when ordering). The most common pilots are the P-Pilot for pressure reducing, and the T-Pilot for temperature control. The Standard Main Valve is used for an inlet pressure range of 15 - 300 PSIG. A special Low-pressure Main Valve is available for an inlet pressure range of 5 - 20 PSIG. The Main Valve and Pilot are purchased separately.
NOTE: When two or more pilots are used on the same valve, an additional Pilot Adapter for Second Pilot is required. (Not required for Solenoid Pilot).
