The Thermodynamic Steam Trap is simple and compact with a single moving part (disc) which opens to discharge condensate and closes in the presence of steam. Body materials are available in Stainless and Alloy Steels for pressures up to 3,600 psig. It is widely used in higher pressure drip applications and critical tracing applications where condensate back-up is not permitted.
Applications: Draining condensate from steam mains and steam supply lines. They can also be used for steam tracing applications.
TD3600 model steam traps are designed to handle the drainage of condensate from extremely high-pressure systems and are commonly used as drip traps on high-pressure steam mains and steam supply lines. These traps are suitable for outdoor applications that are subject to freezing as well as for superheated steam conditions. The complete internal working mechanism can be completely replaced while the trap body remains in line. Thermodynamic traps will only discharge small amounts of air and therefore are not typically recommended on process applications.
The TD3600 Thermodynamic Steam Trap was designed for handling the drainage of condensate from EXTREMELY HIGH-PRESSURE systems. The TD3600 Series is available in Socket Weld, Butt Weld and Flange connections from 1/2" thru 1". All models of the TD3600 contain an integral strainer for protection against dirt and scale. The entire internal working mechanism of the TD3600 can be completely replaced while the trap body remains in-line using a replacement capsule. The replacement capsule is a significant feature of the TD3600 and allows for a quick & complete method of repair. Since the internal working mechanism (seat and disc) can be separated from the trap body, these traps can be field welded in-line without damaging the seat area due to the excessive heat of welding.
Helpful Selection Information: This trap was designed for handling the drainage of condensate from EXTREMELY HIGH-PRESSURE systems, with a maximum operating pressure of 3600 PSIG. The TD3600 is available in Socket Weld, Butt Weld from 1/2” through 1”.
