W91 & W94 Series — Direct-Operated Temperature Regulators (Cooling)
The W91 & W94 Series Temperature Regulators are direct-operated temperature control valves designed for cooling applications in steam, water, and process fluid systems. These regulators automatically modulate flow to maintain a desired temperature without the need for external power, making them reliable and economical solutions for industrial temperature control.
Automatic Temperature Control
The W91 & W94 Series regulators use a self-contained thermal actuator that senses temperature changes through a copper bulb and capillary system. As temperature rises above the set point, the valve opens to increase cooling flow. As temperature decreases, the valve throttles closed to maintain stable and accurate temperature control.

Operating Principles
The sensing bulb is installed in the process where temperature is to be controlled. As process temperature increases, the liquid-filled bulb expands and transmits pressure through the capillary to the actuator, causing the valve to open. When temperature drops toward the set point, actuator pressure decreases and the valve closes proportionally, maintaining consistent temperature regulation.
W91 & W94 Series Models
The W91 Series features a non-indicating dial actuator, while the W94 Series includes an indicating dial actuator for visual temperature reference. Multiple valve sizes, temperature ranges, and capillary lengths are available to suit various installation and control requirements.

Notes
Valve bodies used for cooling service carry a “C” designation in the model code. Thermowells are ordered separately. Proper selection of temperature range and capillary length is essential for accurate control. Consult factory for sizing assistance or special application requirements.
