WDS Series — Air/Steam Moisture Separators
The WDS Series Air/Steam Moisture Separators are designed to remove entrained liquid and moisture from steam or compressed air systems. By reducing moisture content, these separators improve system efficiency, protect downstream equipment, and deliver clean, dry steam or air for industrial applications.
Efficient Moisture Removal
The WDS Series operates by reducing flow velocity and directing the fluid into an internal vortex containment plate. This action causes entrained liquid droplets to separate from the steam or air and fall to the bottom of the separator, where they can be safely drained. The result is dry, clean steam or air exiting through the outlet.

Operating Principles
As wet steam or air enters the WDS separator, the internal design forces a sudden reduction in velocity and creates a swirling motion. Moisture droplets are separated by centrifugal force and gravity, collecting at the bottom of the vessel for removal. Dry steam or air then flows upward and exits through the outlet, improving overall system performance.
WDS Series Models
The WDS Series is available in ductile iron Type T™ separators as well as fabricated carbon steel and stainless steel units. Multiple sizes and pressure classes are offered to accommodate a wide range of flow rates and system requirements.

Notes
For optimal performance, WDS moisture separators should be installed with proper drainage and paired with an appropriate condensate removal device. Correct sizing is critical to ensure efficient moisture separation. Consult factory for sizing assistance, material selection, and special service conditions.
